 HOW TO BE BETTER VERSION OF YOUR SELF


We always starve for more. The thirst for more run through our veins and makes us search for the next fix that gives us "more" of something.

At the same time, we are told that we must be happy with what we have.Both things might seem controversial, yet I see them as complementing each other.

While starving for more of everything in our life, we must aware that what we have is already enough and got us to the place we're at. Simply said, going for the " more" is not bad as long we wisely choose what "more" we want.

Being a better version of your self is something that you work for every minute of the day. You try hard for every minute of the day. You try hard to be best self - in your relationship, career, daily routine, health and life- because you know that taking one step ahead to being a better you will take you closer to your dream life. Not only will help you in becoming better individual, you'll also be making a significant contribution to the society in general. 

In this blog post, I will post some ways to improve your life almost instantly. You could use it as an inspiration or guidance, as long as you leave this blog with the decision to try at least one of these ideas.


1. WAKING UP EARLIER:


 While I am in college I often overslept the first few classes. After that my thoughts are like: " Well, if I missed these first few, I'll just skip everything today." I can't remember if there was one time I was genuinely exited to go to my classes... Now, on the other hand, getting up earlier is one of my favorite habits. And I also enjoy the time after that. I enjoy what I'm doing. If you are struggling with getting up from bed in the morning, reevaluate the way you're spending your time and find something you'll enjoy.

Of course, if you prefer having late nights rather than early mornings, there's nothing wrong with that, this is just my personal preferance and waking up earlier has led me to have more structured days, being more productive. It has improved every area of my life, essentially, so I can only suggest to try it out for your self and see how you'll feel.

Staring the day by having a mini heart attack when your alarm clock startles you and then prolonging that by snoozing 10+ times is probably one of the habits you might want to replace for a peaceful morning.


2. PRACTICE GRATITUDE EVERYDAY:


Being happy is the first step to being the better version of your self and your happiness largely depends on how you feel about your life. Once you learn to derive happiness from the life that you are living right now, there's nobody who can stop you from becoming your greatest self.In order to be happy, learn to practice gratitude everyday and focus only on the positive things in your life. Create a gratitude list and revisit it every time you feel that has been unfair to you.


3. DEVELOPING PRODUCTIVE ROUTINES:


There are 3 phases to transformation:

1.   Notice

2.    Make a choice

3.    Do something different

After making a productive choice to reframe your thoughts and mindset. You have to make a choice of what you choose to do in line with develpoing a positive mindset.The works down to your routine, the habits you build into a continual  and unconciously practice. This may sound like a flimsy activity but role in your growth and transformation process.

One major activity to transformation is ' wakin up early'. If you haven't been practicing healthy routines that will help supercharge your mornings. You should because when you wake up early you have a lot of time at hand to make things happen. To learn more, work more, and this will enhance your overall life.

Habits that dominate your mental state should not be overlooked as well. I personally was always at the mercy of my fears. I couldn't take steps or make proper decision without consulting my fears and insecurities and this ate me up.Caging my confidence until I learned to eliminate such forms of negativity and improve my mental habits.

       I  killed  7  types  of  negativity.       

  • Perefectionism: trying to achieve something that is literally unattainable will only result in you feeling less than.
  • Judgment over yourself and others : When you are judgmental you are only focusing on the negative qualities in your self and others.
  • Self doubt : Self doubt is a weed that will take over your life if you don't kill it at the root.
  • Assuming the worst will happen : If you never think things will be better, they won't and this utterly removes hope.
  • Worrying : Worrying changes nothing except your mental state.
  • Complaining : when you focus on the negative things, you are really setting your self for never being content or happy.
  • Trying to control everything : You can't control everything and when you try and inavitably fail, you feel at fault.


4. TAKE CONTROL:

Consider this lyrics from the band INVUBUS in their 1999 song , 'Drive'  the song is about fear and being driven by it all your life and making decision based on fear.

it's driven me before, and it

seems to be the way that

everyone else gets around.

But lately I'm beginning to

find that when I drive my self,

my light is found "

According to the lead singer, the lyric is about imagining what life would be like if you didn't live that way. I believe you can apply this lyric more broadly to plethora of external forces that can drive a person. What is driving you?

Is it fear? Could it be the desire to prove yourself? Does greed, money, pleasure, or career achievement drive you? Most people don't know the answer to this question. And If you don't know what drives you, how do you know that you're in control? Most likely you aren't.

It mat feel that way but someone or something else is really pulling the string. Taking control id all about doing whatever you can within your circle of influence to get the result you desire. It's taking the initiative to identify the things you can change and then taking action to change them.
